Total Body Cleanse

Total Body Cleanse

Going beyond the basic notion of a cleanse, over the years through our clinical application and research we have seen that a fundamental block to good health, healing and anti-ageing is our body’s increased burden with toxins.

Evidence is mounting that the cocktail of toxins we are exposed to have a strong connection with poor health and disease. The 80,000 chemicals in our environment form a cocktail of unknown and potentially unpredicted activity when combined. Heavy metals (lead, mercury, cadmium), pesticides and plastics are just a few with links to Parkinson’s, liver disease, diabetes, obesity, cancer and even schizophrenia.

On a more day to day basis the typical symptoms of toxicity include tiredness, lethargy, insomnia, inability to deal with stress, mood swings, indigestion, hormonal problems, inability to focus, dull skin, dry skin, poor performance and a low immune system. In fact most of us forget that the state of our skin depends on the state of our inner health. The more toxic we are the worse our skin looks.

Energy or lack of it is one of the main concerns when it comes to well being. The old saying ‘tired of being tired’ affects every part of our lives, personal, emotional and work. Put simply as we age our energy goes down and our toxic burden goes up. Clogged up organs make it harder to absorb nutrients from food or supplements making the process worse. Since 70% of our energy goes to digestion and elimination, lack of energy means toxins accumulate and we have less energy for detoxification.

A good cleansing program always starts with the gut. By cleansing the colon first we keep the gut toxin free and able to function properly. Once the bowel is clean you can absorb nutrients again and when you consider that 90% of the body’s Seratonin (Happy molecule) is made in the Gut the benefits aren’t just better energy, vitality and performance but also happier moods and great looking skin.

There are key nutrients the body needs both for detoxification and for speeding up the process. Clay and Psylium are key nutrients for cleansing the gut and nutrients such as enzymes, vitamins and minerals are needed to release energy and support the detox process. As soon as detox starts, cells and tissues release toxins into the blood stream which the body then needs to eliminate through the gut, kidneys, liver, skin, lungs and lymphatic system. Supporting the system with everything it needs is something we have learnt over the years
